Last night was the "Supermoon", the biggest full moon to occur all

year.

And you know what I did?

I slept outside.

Under the stars, er, tree.

Without a tent.

(Lucky for me, there was 0% chance of rain in the forecast. How often

does that happen where I live? Exactly.)

And guess what?

It wasn't dark.

The Supermoon was so bright, I didn't need a flashlight.

It was so bright, I couldn't fall asleep for quite a bit.

Then, a little while after I finally did fall asleep, I woke up again to

very bright moonlight in my eyes.

I turned over and tried to go back to sleep.

After about twenty minutes, I did. For about another three hours.

Then the blasted birds woke me up.

It was 5:40 in the morning.

I walked inside and went to bed.

Needless to say, I'm pretty tired today. But it was worth it. Why?

1) I got to see the supermoon
2) I slept outside without a tent = Bucket list item. Plus, if I ever write a cliched novel where the main character(s) go on a long journey by foot, it'll be easier to write about their first night sleeping outside. :-D

  2. "The only trouble with sleeping on the ground is that you woke up so dreadfully early" (Narnia geek.) Sounds like such fun! I tried that over the weekend but got flooded on so had to go camp out at my cousins.

    1. Too true ( I remember that line)!
It was pretty fun - afterwards. Things like that never tend to work out for me. It's never boring.
