Last night was the "Supermoon", the biggest full moon to occur all
year.
And you know what I did?
I slept outside.
Under the stars, er, tree.
Without a tent.
(Lucky for me, there was 0% chance of rain in the forecast. How often
does that happen where I live? Exactly.)
And guess what?
It wasn't dark.
The Supermoon was so bright, I didn't need a flashlight.
It was so bright, I couldn't fall asleep for quite a bit.
Then, a little while after I finally did fall asleep, I woke up again to
very bright moonlight in my eyes.
I turned over and tried to go back to sleep.
After about twenty minutes, I did. For about another three hours.
Then the blasted birds woke me up.
It was 5:40 in the morning.
I walked inside and went to bed.
Needless to say, I'm pretty tired today. But it was worth it. Why?
1) I got to see the supermoon
2) I slept outside without a tent = Bucket list item. Plus, if I ever write a cliched novel where the main character(s) go on a long journey by foot, it'll be easier to write about their first night sleeping outside. :-D
Awesome!!! I've always wanted to do that. XD
ReplyDeleteYou should try it sometime!
Delete"The only trouble with sleeping on the ground is that you woke up so dreadfully early" (Narnia geek.) Sounds like such fun! I tried that over the weekend but got flooded on so had to go camp out at my cousins.
ReplyDeleteToo true ( I remember that line)!
DeleteIt was pretty fun - afterwards. Things like that never tend to work out for me. It's never boring.
