Looking in the tools section of the local hardware store, I found this box with "Happy Birthday James" written on it in faded black marker.
Here's your challenge: come up with a story (and post it as a comment) explaining why.

Today...is a great day, for today...is pi day.
Celebrate.
Eat some pie. (But not actually pi, because that'd be...unwriterly. Perish the thought.)

Only on Leap Day

Only on Leap Day would I have a dream with two things that actually happened while I was dreaming.
    
       1) A thunderstorm (which was impossible in my dream because I was on the Starship Enterprise...in the far reaches of the Universe...where there is no atmosphere...)
       2) Nothing I can explain without being too weird (sorry)

So, I woke up to a thunderstorm. My yard was flooded. Actually, so was the building that I went to. One of the hallways literally had about 2.5 inches of standing water.
Need I mention that it's February?
And it's storming....again.
*lightning flashes*
Yes. It's about to storm soon.
My house is surrounded by cumulonimbus (storm) clouds with lightning illuminating them.
*checks the clouds outside*
and they're passing us.
They had formed a  horseshoe around our house. Come to think of it, they looked a lot like the clouds that I thought the Rocky Mountains were the first time I traveled to Colorado.

Inspiration (or, Writing Music)

Everyone (especially writers) needs a little inspiration every once in a while. Some people go to the scriptures, some to music, nature, pictures, architecture, and quiet.

Madness (or: Our Insane Weather Today)

Just the other day, we had snow. (See picture from yesterday's post). Today, it's 53 degrees. And windy. It was raining, but that stopped at about noon. Good-bye beloved snow. Hello Georgian winter. 

This afternoon, I noticed the wind picking up. Leaves skittered across the front lawn. The clouds looked...interesting. So I grabbed my camera phone and leaped out the front door. Barefoot (*facepalm*). The wind instantly assailed me, and the clouds moved absurdly fast.

This Doctor Who soundtrack (thank you, Murray Gold!) started playing in my head.

(Series Five: Words Win Wars)

I ran down the cold driveway, imagination transporting me to the story I'm writing.

Feet now numb, I ran back inside.

Then, a few minutes later ran back out (this time with shoes) and took these pictures:



Strange, no?

Now, it's getting even darker. And even more ominous. And colder, creepier.

I checked the weather forecast. Today: 50 Tomorow: 23 and snow.

There are thunderstrorm warnings.

Madness.

Utter madness.

Snow!

'Nuf said.

I Write Like...

I found this website on Jake's blog. 

Basically, all you do is copy a couple paragraphs of

something you've written

(a blog post, essay, a chapter of a book you're writing, et cetera),

and paste it in the big white box, then click "Analyze".

Then, it shows you the famous author that your writing style is closest to.
